Thermocouple Welding Machine
The TPE-WM100 is a precision MI thermocouple welding workstation built for sustained production use. Combining capacitance discharge (CD) conductor welding and TIG sheath closure welding in a single unit, it handles the complete MI thermocouple manufacturing sequence without hardware changeover — from hot junction weld through to hermetic sheath closure.
Designed and assembled in County Durham, UK, every machine carries UKCA and CE marks and has been independently EMC tested to BS EN IEC 61000-6-4 and BS EN IEC 61000-6-2 — all nine tests passed. Electrically over-rated key components, wear-resistant Elkonite jaw sets, and a three-fan thermostatic cooling system ensure reliable performance across sustained production shifts.
No specialist skills are required. Once configured for your cable specification, the machine guides the operator through each weld cycle automatically — with recommended settings for all standard cable sizes provided in the supplied instruction manual.
The TPE-WM100 handles both welding operations required for a finished MI thermocouple — capacitance discharge (CD) for the hot junction conductor weld, and TIG for the hermetic sheath closure — on the same workstation, with no hardware changeover between processes.
A five-stage programmable TIG weld cycle (pre-flow, ramp up, weld, ramp down, post-flow) gives precise, repeatable results across all standard cable diameters from 0.5 mm to 8.0 mm. CD energy is infinitely variable from under 5 Joules to 990 Joules via a five-position capacitor bank selector and multi-turn voltage dial.
A 2.5 m torch and detachable welding bed allow flexible machine layout, including remote torch positioning where required. Regulated argon gas delivery and an integrated blow-gun enable rapid removal of loose MgO powder, minimising contamination during both welding sequences.
The machine carries UKCA and CE marks and has been independently tested to BS EN IEC 61000-6-4 (emissions) and BS EN IEC 61000-6-2 (immunity) — all nine tests passed. Rated IP54, Class A EMC, 60% duty cycle. Configured for 110–230 VAC 50/60 Hz — suitable for worldwide operation. 1-year warranty.
