Precision MI Cable Drilling Station
A compact, production-ready drilling system designed to provide precise, repeatable removal of MgO insulation and initial conductor exposure during mineral-insulated (MI) thermocouple manufacture. The machine delivers CNC-level positional accuracy, ensuring consistent drilling depth and alignment across a wide range of MI cable sizes. Fine XYZ adjustment allows precise control of drill positioning, improving repeatability and reducing operator dependency in production environments. Designed for flexibility, the system supports both metric and imperial cable formats. A quick-change ISO20 chuck system allows rapid drill changes, transforming the machine into an e icient production drilling station.
Up to three ISO20 drill chucks are supplied as standard, enabling fast tool changes without reconfiguration. A brushless motor with closed-loop BLDC control provides smooth speed regulation up to 4000 rpm, while an internal belt-drive system ensures quiet operation and consistent torque delivery.

Integrated internal fan cooling supports sustained duty cycles. Operator safety is addressed through a polycarbonate safety cover with reed-switch interlock, preventing machine operation unless the cover is correctly positioned. An emergency stop is fitted as standard. An integrated dust-extraction channel allows connection to an external extraction system to manage MgO debris during drilling. The machine is bench-mountable via integrated mounting points and is configured for worldwide operation using a single-phase power supply.
